Downs Syndrome

Short Definition:

Down’s syndrome is caused by an extra chromosome in your cells. In the majority of cases it can’t be inherited, and occurs by chance at the time of conception. It usually causes some level of learning disability.

Ms Hooton’s Useful Tips:

• Ask for support from a teacher or assistant
• Take part in lessons
• Ask for support with things like eating and getting around school if needed.
