Google Classroom Tutorial
Muting Students
How to mute students on your Google Classroom’s Classwork feed
You can mute a student to prevent them from posting in the classroom stream. This means they can still submit work, however other students won’t see it, they can’t reply to classmates’ work; and they can’t comment or post. Here is a guide on how to do this …
Start by going into your classroom and clicking on the ‘People’ tab …
Scroll down to ‘Students’ and using the checkbox, select the student(s) you would like to mute. The box will go blue with a white tick in it once selected …
Press on the ‘Actions’ button, and then select ‘Mute’ …
You will then be asked to confirm your selection. Press on ‘Mute’ …
You will know this has worked when a muted speaker appears next to their name …
To unmute the student(s), you follow the same process, but this time press on ‘Unmute’ …
