Student Support Workers

Student Support is a safe space for pupils to come to for a range of different reasons. Our staff are trained in a therapeutic approach and are qualified Mental Health First Aiders.

We pride ourselves on being friendly, calm and nurturing in an area that is relaxing and comfortable. We provide reassurance and comfort in an area where everyone is encouraged to be emotionally honest.

Students can drop in if they feel they need to talk or need some space to regulate their emotions. We use the Zones of Regulation to help students to recognise their emotions and work to help them to regulate and get back to being ready to learn.

We also have timetabled sessions which are allocated through our robust pastoral system. Within these sessions with students we can support with anger management, bereavement, mentoring, protective behaviours, anxiety, self esteem, social skills or friendship groups.

Student Support are on call to attend any behavioural issues that arise and analyse behaviour patterns in order to support students in the best way possible.
