How to create a Question using Google Classroom

The Question tool on Google Classroom can be used to gain a response from your students in a variety of different ways. Here is how to create one …


Start out by visiting your Google Classroom page for your class, and click on ‘Classwork’ at the top …

Once there, press on the ‘Create’ button, and click on ‘Question’ …

The below will now appear. click in the ‘Question’ field to type in your question …

Next, you are able to choose if you’d like the students to reply with a short written answer, or select set multiple choice options …

Selecting ‘Multiple choice’ will change your view to the below, allowing you to enter options …

Should you wish, you can add instructions to assist your students here …

You can also Add or Create further resources/documents here to help your students answer the question if desired …

The options on the right hand side will allow you to change who you’d like to receive the question, and set a due date if required …

Once you have completed your quiz, press on ‘Ask’. clicking on the dropdown arrow next to this will also allow you to Schedule, Save, or Discard your question …

Once asked, you will be redirected back to your classroom page. You will be able to see your question here. Press on it to expand it like the below …

Clicking on ‘View question’ will allow you to see Student responses, along with viewing the class comments feed if enabled …

The view will look like the below, and responses will be displayed accordingly …
